Introduction

When we bow down and tell Allah and Hazrat Isa al Masih (PBUH) that we dedicate ourselves to following Hazrat Isa al Masih, the Father and Hazrat Isa al Masih will respond immediately and pour out upon us the Holy Spirit. When Allah and Hazrat al Masih do this, we may feel different, we may immediately sense a change in our mind and emotions; but we may not feel any different. Our feelings do not matter. What matters is our confidence in God and in his promises. Here are some verses to help you understand what God is like when we ask him for his Spirit.

Biblical References

Luke 11:1-13

In these verses Hazrat Isa al Masih (PBUH) taught his disciples what to pray for, and what to expect from Allah when they pray. Notice, they are to expect that Allah will hear them, and they are to expect that Allah will generously give the Holy Spirit to those who ask.

Acts 2:16-18

In the last post we read about the Spirit descending upon the disciples. After the Spirit descended upon them, the people around the disciples were amazed. Then Rasool Peter (PBUH) spoke up and reminded the people of Allah's promise that was spoken years earlier by the Prophet Joel. The Prophet told them Allah's desire was to pour out his Spirit upon all people, men, women, children, and servants.

Conclusion

In this post we learn that Allah wants to give the Holy Spirit to those who earnestly want to love and follow him. So, if this is your intention, and you are asking Allah and Hazrat Isa al Masih for the Spirit, be confident that Allah has accepted and has answered your request. In the next post, we will look at what changes the Spirit brings into our lives.
